About this program

Every year the transport industry is faced with an overwhelming number of heavy vehicle rollovers that occur on Australian roads.  These accidents cause catastrophic damage to vehicles, property and goods, or even worse, personal injury or fatality.  Such incidents not only have significant cost implications for businesses, but also greatly affects the wellbeing of drivers and their families, the environment and the entire community.

Heavy vehicle fleet operators have a responsibility to ensure their driver’s skills are of the highest standards at all times, in all conditions.
Preventing the devastation of heavy vehicle rollovers is a challenge within itself, however the DECA Rollover Prevention and Stability Program can play an integral role in reducing the likelihood of these accidents across any fleet.

The DECA program uses both theory and practical training to give professional drivers a greater understanding of heavy vehicle dynamics, and the measures they can put in place to recognise and minimise rollover risk.  Not only will driving skill levels improve, but each driver will develop a heightened respect for the vehicles they drive, and apply themselves in the professional and responsible manner expected by fleet operators.

  • Causes of rollover
  • Vehicle technology
  • Mechanical appreciation
  • Electronic Braking Stability systems
  • Radius curve, roundabout and J-turn manoeuvres (with and without Electronic Stability Control)
