Bus & Coach Driver Training

From minibuses to coaches, the bus industry has a number of exciting opportunities for new and experienced drivers alike. Learning both on the road and in the classroom, DECA’s bus training courses will teach you how to operate in this industry safely and effectively.

Our experienced and knowledgeable staff will help you feel at ease behind the wheel and equip you with the skills required to be a successful member of the industry, including:

• Vehicle manoeuvring and control
• Start and stop sequences
• Vehicle positioning
• City and highway driving

A bus licence can also be a valuable accreditation for clubs and school faculty members who need to transport passengers to and from excursions and field trips.

In addition to licensing, DECA also runs courses teaching drivers how to operate buses in hazardous conditions. This course is especially relevant to drivers who would be expected to travel through dangerous, alpine conditions, such as snow, ice and sleet, as a part of their job.

Heavy Vehicle Learner Licence- Tasmania Only

The Heavy Vehicle Learner Licence is an initiative by the Tasmanian government that applies to all drivers who wish to obtain a Heavy Vehicle Licence more than one class above the licence they currently hold.
