Learn to Drive Heavy Rigid Synchromesh

Course Overview:

The Heavy Rigid (HR) course has been developed to equip drivers with the skills and knowledge to safely operate a HR vehicle with confidence.

Using a HR vehicle with a synchromesh gearbox, participants will learn how to navigate these large vehicles in both city streets and busy highways. Students will also learn about the intricacies of road craft and the principles of defensive driving.


$1,015 per person (GST free)

Turning and handling
Reversing and manoeuvring
Vehicle positioning
System of vehicle control

City and highway driving


This licence course has been approved by VicRoads. Successful participants will receive a Certificate of Competency.

Course Specifics:

Three day course (24 hours) when held with a maximum of three learners
Includes a demonstration drive, theory test and the licence driving test

Entry Requirements:

Hold a current Victorian Car Licence
Have held an Australian Car Licence for at least two years
Provide primary proof of identification prior to course commencement
Purchase and be familiar with the VicRoads "Truck and Bus" handbook
