Course Overview:


DECA's group format Learn to Drive Heavy Rigid (HR) Synchromesh course is specifically designed for those people wanting to get a Victorian Heavy Rigid Synchro driver's licence.

Holding a synchro HR licence allows you to drive any rigid vehicle with three or more axles, including bus or truck, greater than 8 tonnes GVM with either a synchro or auto gear box.

Plenty of driver training time combined with theoretical and practical learning activities ensures this nationally recognised training is your best chance of successfully obtaining a heavy rigid licence.

Certification:

Please note that whilst your training and assessment services will be provided by DECA trainers, all students will be enrolled with Wodonga TAFE for any nationally recognised training.

This licence course has been approved by VicRoads. Successful participants will receive their Victorian Heavy Rigid licence and a statement of attainment with nationally recognised units of competency.

This course consists of the nationally recognised units of competency, TLILIC2016B Licence to drive a heavy rigid vehicle, TLIF2092A Demonstrate awareness of chain of responsibility regulations, TLIU1009A Monitor plant and equipment in an environmentally sustainable manner, TLIH3002A Plan and navigate routes, HLTAMBPD401C Manage personal stressors in the work environment, and TLIG1001A Work effectively with others, from TLI42111 Certificate IV in Driving Operations.  This Training Product is current as per the National Register (www.training.gov.au).

Five day course held with a maximum of three learners.

Entry Requirements:


Hold a current Victorian Car Licence
Have held an Australian Car Licence for at least two years
Provide primary proof of identification prior to course commencement
Be able to drive a car with manual transmission
Purchase and be familiar with the VicRoads "Truck and Bus" handbook
