Background and Brief History
For decades now, DECA has led the way in preparing and assessing tens of thousands of Australian road users for all their driving needs. Established as a training complex in the Goulburn Valley, DECA has since grown into the nation’s premier provider of driver education and training services. For over 35 years we have worked alongside some of Australia’s largest industries, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop a wide range of engaging and industry-relevant courses.

History
Since our humble beginnings in the Goulburn Valley, we have grown into one of Australia’s premier driver education providers. First established in 1974, we have worked tirelessly to create a modern and engaging learning environment for all drivers.
In 1979 we were incorporated as a not for profit company, taking the name ‘Goulburn Valley Driver Training Complex Limited’. During 1980 the Victorian Government took over responsibility and funding of the company, with DECA becoming subject to the operating procedures, systems and requirements of a full TAFE Institute.
Over the following decade our operations grew and expanded across the nation and by 1993 we had changed our name to reflect this growth, becoming the Driver Education Centre of Australia. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves towards providing training of the highest of standards across the nation, utilising our state of the art facilities in Victoria and Tasmania, as well as our national network of trainers and assessors.
Credentials
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), DECA has dedicated itself to delivering the highest quality education using the latest in theoretical and practical training techniques. With accreditation at both state and national levels, we have devoted ourselves to creating a modern learning environment that equips all learners with the skills and knowledge needed to ensure the safety of all road users.
